Her Excellency Ambassador Khadija Mbarek Fall, Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the United Nations in Rome, represented Mauritania at the 181st session of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Council, held from 8 to 12 June 2026 at FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
The session's agenda included several important items and issues, reflecting the complex global context affecting global food security and exacerbating related challenges.
The Council also discussed a number of reports from FAO regional conferences, including the report of the 34th session of the FAO Regional Conference for Africa, held in Nouakchott from 13 to 17 April 2026.
